Methodology

How the dataset is built

A survival curve needs multiple sessions with time-to-intervention or right-censored endpoints under compatible conditions. The only current public compatible row found is an up-to-1,300-hour right-censored manufacturer validation claim.

Editorial analysis

An observation window is not a failure time

The A2 Ultra row records a manufacturer claim of operation without an anomaly through the stated validation window. It is treated as a censored observation because no failure time is reported. Assigning failure at the end of that window would change its meaning.

One record cannot characterize a fleet

The table lacks a set of independent sessions with comparable tasks, software versions and stopping rules. It therefore cannot estimate how reliability varies across robots or operating conditions. The published duration alone is not a mean time between failures.

Define intervention before collecting more sessions

A reliability study should decide whether remote help, a reset, a missed task or a hardware repair ends a session. Record exposure and reasons for stopping consistently. Only then can completed and censored sessions support a meaningful survival analysis.

Frequently asked questions

Does the published duration prove a robot will run that long in any workplace?

No. It is a manufacturer validation claim under incompletely specified conditions, not a general guarantee.
